South Carolina Senate Candidates Hold Their Only Scheduled Debate; Graham Declines to Commit to More

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 · States · GSM News

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The only scheduled debate in South Carolina's U.S. Senate race was held on Sunday, Oct. 11, hosted by South Carolina ETV and SC Public Radio. Republican incumbent Sen. Darline Graham, Democratic pediatrician Annie Andrews and Libertarian Kasie Whitener shared the stage, taking questions on Iran, the economy, super intelligence, and teens and social media.

During the debate, Andrews pressed for more debates before the Nov. 3 vote, saying she had already agreed to three additional matchups and that a single 60-minute debate left too many issues untouched. Graham declined to commit to any further debates, saying it was more important for her to listen to voters than to stand on a debate stage.

That evening, voters in Myrtle Beach gathered at Journey Church to watch a live stream, at a watch party hosted by the Horry County Republican Party. Pastor Thomas Wallace encouraged voters to study the candidates' platforms and decide for themselves before voting. Early voting in South Carolina runs Oct. 19-31; the general election is Nov. 3.
