Kraken Beat Capitals 5-3: McCann Scores Late Winner, Daccord Makes 33 Saves

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 · City · GSM News

Seattle is a city in King County, Washington. The Seattle Kraken beat the Washington Capitals 5-3 on the road on the night of Oct. 11, notching their second straight win on a five-game road trip and improving to 4-2-0, NHL.com reported on Oct. 12.

The game turned in the third period. With the score tied 3-3, Jared McCann scored the go-ahead goal at 14:33 of the third, and Ryan Winterton added an insurance goal at 17:20. Frederick Gaudreau chipped in a goal and an assist, while goaltender Joey Daccord finished with 33 saves — 17 of them in the third period — to protect the lead.

For Washington, veteran star Alex Ovechkin scored his first goal of the season, but the Capitals' third-period push fell short. The game was the second stop on Seattle's current road swing.

The Kraken's coaching staff credited the team's depth, with contributions across the forward lines during a demanding stretch of travel. Seattle continues its road trip next; fans can follow the remaining games through the team's official channels.

At 4-2-0, the Kraken remain competitive in the Pacific Division, and Daccord's back-to-back strong outings have been central to collecting points on this trip. After the five-game swing ends, the team returns home to Seattle, where fans will see their first home game in about two weeks.
