MILWAUKEE/ST. PETERSBURG — Two league championship series games were played on Monday, October 12, in the 2026 Major League Baseball postseason. In Game 2 of the National League Championship Series, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 at American Family Field to take a 2-0 series lead. In Game 1 of the American League Championship Series, the Cleveland Guardians rallied to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 on the road.

In Milwaukee, the Brewers followed their 2-1 win in Game 1 with another victory. The Dodgers scored first on a Teoscar Hernández sacrifice fly in the first inning before William Contreras tied the game with an RBI single. Los Angeles then hurt itself defensively: a hard Mookie Betts grounder slipped off the shortstop's glove in the third, and an errant pickoff throw brought home another run as Milwaukee pulled away. The Brewers outhit the Dodgers 12 to 3. Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto could not contain the home lineup, while Brewers rookie Logan Henderson helped send the series to Los Angeles with Milwaukee up 2-0. Game 3 is scheduled for October 14 at Dodger Stadium. Milwaukee finished the regular season 103-59, the best record in baseball, after being swept by the Dodgers in last year's NLCS.

In St. Petersburg, the Rays jumped ahead 2-0 in the first inning on RBI singles by Junior Caminero and Jonny DeLuca off Guardians starter Foster Griffin, who allowed two runs over four innings. Cleveland scored all seven of its runs in the sixth inning or later. Rookie Chase DeLauter went 3-for-4, homering off Rays ace Drew Rasmussen in the sixth and doubling in the eighth to set up Nathaniel Lowe's go-ahead two-run single. José Ramírez went 3-for-5 and added an RBI single in the eighth before Cleveland tacked on three runs in the ninth to close out the 7-3 win. DeLauter is hitting .333 this postseason, and Ramírez is 8-for-17 with two homers and eight RBI over his last four postseason games. ALCS Game 2 is scheduled for October 13 at Tropicana Field.
