Irvine: Strike Disrupts Bowerman Landfill Services; Compost Event Canceled
Irvine is a city in Orange County, California. The City of Irvine announced on October 13 that operations at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill in Irvine have been disrupted by a strike arising from a contract dispute between Orange County and the Teamsters union. The landfill remains open and accepting waste, though delays may occur; public compost pickup and asphalt and soil delivery are suspended, and the October 17 compost distribution event has been canceled. The city advised the public to avoid the Bee Canyon Access Road area.
