Twentynine Palms: City Council takes up second reading of homeless encampment ordinance on October 13

Twentynine Palms is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The Twentynine Palms City Council met on October 13 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, with a short agenda: no public hearings or discussion items, and only two Consent Calendar items requiring a vote.
The most consequential was the second and final reading of the city's new ordinance on clearing homeless encampments. The ordinance passed its first reading on September 29 by a 3-1-1 vote and, if adopted, takes effect 30 days later. Consent Calendar items are normally approved together in one motion without debate.
