VELDHOVEN, Netherlands — Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML on October 14 reported record third-quarter results: total net sales of €11.662 billion, toward the high end of its guidance; net income of €4.960 billion; a gross margin of 57.5%, above guidance; and basic earnings per share of €12.95.

Installed Base Management sales were €3.289 billion, above guidance, and the company sold 113 new and eight used lithography systems in the quarter. Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments ended the quarter at €12.735 billion. ASML bought back about €4.1 billion of shares in the quarter and declared an interim dividend of €1.88 per share, payable November 4.

President and CEO Christophe Fouquet said customers are raising their near- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts, driven mainly by their views on the size and duration of SI-related investment, and that some customers are expressing interest in placing orders for 2029 and even 2030. With order-book momentum building quarter by quarter, he said the supply ASML has planned for 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet customer demand, and the company is investigating ways to add capacity for 2028 beyond the 30% increase previously announced.

For the fourth quarter, ASML expects total net sales between €14.2 billion and €15.2 billion with a gross margin around 57%; for full-year 2026 it expects sales between €44 billion and €45 billion with a gross margin around 56%. Dow Jones Newswires reported this was the third time ASML has raised its full-year guidance this year. Headquartered in Veldhoven, ASML employs more than 45,500 people and is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and Nasdaq.

ASML guided full-year 2026 total net sales to €44 billion to €45 billion with a gross margin of about 56 percent; fourth-quarter R&D costs were expected at about €1.2 billion and SG&A costs at about €400 million.
