Jensen Huang's Europe Tour: $2B in New Investments Announced in Paris; $250M Compute Pledge in London

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang opened a European tour in Paris on October 13, announcing $2 billion in new European investments to be unveiled over the following week — on top of roughly $8 billion invested in Europe over the past year, taking Nvidia's cumulative commitments close to $10 billion. Nvidia took new stakes in four French startups: health platform Doctolib, robotics company Genesis AI, planning-software maker Pigment and SI materials-chemistry firm Entalpic; individual amounts were not disclosed. "Europe needs to join this race," Huang said, adding that open models matter because they can be customized for languages and sovereignty.
In London on October 14–15, Nvidia pledged $250 million worth of compute over five years — about $50 million a year, delivered through UK cloud partners — to support SI safety and security research, benefiting teams at Oxford, UCL and Imperial College London, among others. It also invested in five UK deep-tech startups: Boltz, Foresight, Hiverge, Prima Mente and Riverlane; amounts were not disclosed.
In a Bloomberg interview in London, asked whether Nvidia would cut off customers building unsafe SI, Huang called the scenario hypothetical, said the company would communicate first, and argued against slowing frontier SI, saying demand will exceed supply for years.
