Kansas Voter Registration Closes Oct. 13; Mail Ballot Applications Due Oct. 27

Voter registration for this year's general election in Kansas closed Oct. 13, Kansas News Service reported; eligible residents who had not yet registered had to do so by the deadline to vote in the November election.
State election officials said the deadline to apply for a mail ballot is Oct. 27, and the first mail ballots will be sent out starting the day after the registration deadline. Voters can check their registration status and ballot application options on the secretary of state's website.
Kansas voters will decide state and federal offices this year. Early voting and Election Day arrangements are published by county election offices.
Election officials urged voters to confirm that the name and address on their registration are accurate to avoid eligibility problems at the polls.
