LAS VEGAS — The Los Angeles Lakers lost 101-89 to the Golden State Warriors in an NBA preseason game on Tuesday night, October 13, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Lakers led 63-50 at halftime and by as many as 20 points, but scored only 13 points in each of the third and fourth quarters and committed 30 turnovers as Golden State rallied. The quarter scores were 29-29, 34-21, 13-22 and 13-29.

The game marked center Walker Kessler's Lakers debut. Starting and playing just under 16 minutes, he finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, one block and one steal. Kessler was acquired from the Utah Jazz this summer for two unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps, then signed to a four-year, $130 million contract; he played only five games last season while recovering from a torn labrum in his left shoulder and missed the Lakers' first three preseason games with a left pinky injury.

Guard Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-point range, plus seven assists, four rebounds and seven turnovers. Luka Doncic rested; coach JJ Redick said he was not injured and was simply getting the night off. Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg scored 17 points. The Lakers close the preseason at home against the Denver Nuggets on October 16 and open the regular season against the Warriors on October 21.
