METAvivor's #LightUpMBC Live Returns Oct. 13 for Fifth Year; Net Proceeds Fund Metastatic Breast Cancer Research

Wednesday, October 14, 2026 · Nonprofit · GSM News

Oct. 13 — Nonprofit METAvivor Research and Support partnered with LiveOne for a fifth consecutive year to present #LightUpMBC Live on October 13, National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, according to an AccessWire release. On the day, hundreds of landmarks around the world illuminate in pink, teal and green — the awareness colors of metastatic breast cancer — to honor those living with the disease and fund research.

This year's streamed program features two-time Tony Award winner Victoria Clark, actress and singer Christina Bianco, Tony-nominated actor Dorian Harewood and singer-songwriter Cassandra Kubinski, along with patient stories, scientists and advocates. The special streamed free on LiveOne's website and on METAvivor's YouTube and Facebook Live channels.

Since its launch, #LightUpMBC has raised more than $2.7 million for metastatic breast cancer research, and 100 percent of net proceeds benefit METAvivor, described as the only U.S. nonprofit that exclusively funds metastatic, or stage 4, breast cancer research through a peer-and-patient-advocate review process. METAvivor also advances federal policy advocacy and peer-to-peer support for patients.
