Escondido Begins Solar Installation at Woodward Avenue Parking Lot, With Phased Work Through Late November
Escondido is a city in San Diego County, California. The City of Escondido announced on October 13 that site preparations began on October 12 at the Woodward Avenue parking lot for new solar and vehicle-charging infrastructure. The work is part of the Escondido Citywide Energy Roadmap, a multi-year city initiative carried out with Climatec.
According to the city, construction will proceed in phases to minimize impacts on the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, nearby schools and after-school programs. Portions of the parking lot will be temporarily closed or restricted during the work, parking availability will vary, and temporary signage will direct visitors to available parking.
The city expects the Woodward Avenue work to be completed by late November. Climatec will then shift its focus to solar and vehicle-charging improvements at the Credit Union parking lot at City Hall.
