Eaton Expands in South Africa with DP World Logistics Partnership and New Johannesburg Facilities

JOHANNESBURG — Eaton, the intelligent power management company, has expanded its South African facilities in Longmeadow, Johannesburg, opening a new head office, additional warehouse capacity and a "Solutions Studio" where customers can view and test how its technologies and products work together, the company said in an October 13 statement.
Eaton also announced that logistics group DP World has been appointed as its new logistics partner in South Africa, to manage warehousing and distribution for Eaton's South African business, supporting product availability and deliveries to customers countrywide. Dubai-based DP World provides freight transport, warehousing and distribution services as well as port and terminal operations; its South African network includes 52 warehouses covering some 719,250 square metres, with services spanning road transport, customs clearance, stock management and order processing.
Eaton supplies equipment used to distribute electricity, protect electrical circuits and provide backup power, including circuit breakers, switchgear and power-monitoring systems used in industrial facilities and commercial buildings; its wider portfolio includes components used in renewable-energy installations.
"South Africa continues to face energy and electrification challenges, but we are seeing encouraging progress towards greater energy security and resilience," said Nistine van Ryneveld, Eaton's sales leader in South Africa. "This reinforces Eaton's commitment to the country and our belief in the important role South Africa can play in the global energy transition."
