DUBAI — The World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the Government of the United Arab Emirates, convened the inaugural Annual Meeting of Global Future Leaders in Dubai from October 13 to 15, 2026, according to a TRAVELINDEX release dated October 14. The meeting is opportunity-driven and future-oriented, providing a platform for emerging and established leaders to create opportunities and build resilience amid uncertainty.

More than 500 next-generation leaders and experts are taking part, including 15 ministers and nearly 150 CEOs and chairs, the organisers said. Participants include members and alumni of the Forum's Young Global Leaders community, alongside select Global Shapers and Social Innovators, and leaders from government, business, academia, science, technology and civil society. Discussions examine how SI and other frontier technologies are reshaping jobs and opportunities, alongside economic uncertainty, geopolitical change and climate challenges.

Alois Zwinggi, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum and Principal Chairman of the meeting, said the decisions made today will shape the world the next generation inherits, and that emerging leaders should have a voice in those decisions. Separately, Dubai's Global Village opened its Season 31 on October 14, with international pavilions, dining and performances, running until May 2027, according to Dubai media.
