Atlanta's Big Bethel AME to Host Souls to the Polls on October 25, With Sharpton Preaching the Morning Service

ATLANTA — Big Bethel AME Church in Atlanta's historic Sweet Auburn district will host a Souls to the Polls event on Sunday, October 25, combining morning worship, a free artificial-intelligence fluency training session and a caravan to an early-voting site, according to an announcement released October 15. Early voting in Georgia began on October 13.
The event will be hosted by senior pastor Dr. Jonathan C. Augustine. The Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, will deliver the morning sermon at the 10 a.m. worship service at the church, at 220 Auburn Ave. NE. An SI fluency training session follows at 1 p.m. in Bishop Hall, and the caravan lines up at 1:30 p.m., concluding at the Joan P. Garner Library early-voting location at 980 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE.
Augustine said in the announcement that the Black church's ministry has never been limited to what happens inside its sanctuary walls, and that faith should move congregants to take part in public life. The announcement also noted that Georgia's 2020 presidential contest was decided by 11,779 votes.
