Anthropic Q3 Revenue Rose 45% to $16.8 Billion Ahead of IPO, Reports Say

SAN FRANCISCO — Anthropic told prospective investors at a pre-IPO meeting at its San Francisco headquarters on October 14 that its third-quarter revenue rose 45 percent from the previous quarter to $16.8 billion, and that the company was profitable on an adjusted basis in the quarter, according to Reuters and The Wall Street Journal. Revenue climbed from $4.7 billion in the first quarter to $11.6 billion in the second; the company booked about $4.6 billion in revenue for all of last year.
Anthropic is preparing an initial public offering that could target a valuation above $2 trillion, likely after the November midterm elections, and could reach the public market ahead of rival OpenAI. Investors are also weighing the sustainability of the industry's huge spending: Anthropic has committed at least $518 billion over a decade to cloud services, computing and infrastructure. The company did not publicly comment on the reported figures.
