Nebraska Man Sentenced to 130 Months for Possessing Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nebraska announced that Johnathan Klein, 31, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on October 15, 2026, in federal court in Lincoln to 130 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual. U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods made the announcement.
U.S. District Judge Susan M. Bazis imposed the sentence. There is no parole in the federal system, and Klein will begin a five-year term of supervised release after his prison term.
Law enforcement learned that Klein had been dealing methamphetamine between October 2024 and March 13, 2025, selling one-eighth of an ounce 10 times, an ounce 30 times, four ounces twice, and five and a half ounces once.
On March 13, 2025, a Lincoln Police Department officer stopped a vehicle in which Klein was a passenger. A small bag of methamphetamine found on the driver led to a search of the vehicle, where a larger bag containing two baggies of methamphetamine was found on the front floorboard, along with syringes, scales and baggies.
Testing by the Nebraska State Patrol Crime Laboratory showed one baggie contained 57.72 grams of methamphetamine at 99.3 percent purity, or at least 54 grams of methamphetamine actual, while the second bag contained 54.73 grams. The case, investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force, remains pending against the co-defendant.
