According to DHS, the four are: Juan Garcia-Martinez, 42, convicted in Cook County of first-degree murder and sentenced to 35 years at Stateville Correctional Center; Isaias Galindo-Martinez, 48, convicted in Cook County of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and sentenced to 45 years at Stateville; Luis Garcia-Gomez, 28, convicted in Lake County of aggravated criminal sexual assault and other offenses and sentenced to 15 years at Stateville; and Miguel Mendez-Garcia, 30, convicted in Kane County of aggravated domestic battery by strangulation and sentenced to six years at Sheridan Correctional Center.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement on the detainers, which ask the state corrections department to notify ICE and transfer the men when their sentences end.
