Drive-By Truckers Announce 17-Date Winter 2027 Tour, New Album Preview in Athens
Drive-By Truckers announced a 17-show winter tour for 2027 on October 15, running February 10 to March 6 and opening with four Heathens Homecoming nights at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia.
Frontman Patterson Hood said the band will preview songs from a nearly finished new album on the opening night. The 27th Homecoming raises money and awareness for Nuçi's Space, the Athens nonprofit supporting musicians' mental health. Each Athens night has different openers, including Taylor Hollingsworth, Athens band Crazier, the Camp Amped Band of young musicians from Nuçi's Space, singer Julia Barfield, and The Star Room Boys.
British band Brown Horse will support the remaining 13 dates, starting February 17 at The Mill & Mine in Knoxville, Tennessee, then Cleveland, Ohio, Louisville and Harrisburg, three Florida shows, Cleveland, Mississippi and Houston, closing with two nights at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas on March 5 and 6. Hood described it as the band's first full tour in over a year.
An artist presale began October 15 at 10 a.m. local time, with general sales on October 16. Earlier this month, on October 3, the band reunited with former member Jason Isbell at ShoalsFest to perform the 2003 album Decoration Day in full, his first full set with the band in 19 years.
