[Video] Filmed Starlight Express Stage Production to Screen in Cinemas in Several Countries From November 26; Tickets on Sale Now

London — Trafalgar Releasing announced on October 15 that Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express – Live on Stage, a filmed capture of the hit musical, will screen in cinemas in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Australia and Canada for a limited run starting November 26. Tickets went on sale the same day through the film's official site. A U.S. release date has not been announced.
The film was shot at the Starlight Auditorium inside London's Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre during the musical's 2024 revival. Directed on stage by Luke Sheppard and filmed by Brett Sullivan, the revival opened on June 30, 2024, becoming the longest-running revival of a Lloyd Webber musical in London in two decades, and added a new song, Hydrogen, by Lloyd Webber and Richard Stilgoe. Jeevan Braich leads the cast as Rusty the steam train, alongside Jade Marvin, Olivia Ringrose, Asher Forth and Sophie Naglik.
With music by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Stilgoe, Starlight Express tells of a child's train set coming to life as its engines race to be the fastest in the world, with the cast performing entirely on roller skates. Seen by more than 30 million people since its 1984 West End premiere, the revival has won an Olivier Award and a record seven WhatsOnStage Awards.
