London — Catalyst Theatre's musical play Nevermore – The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe will play a limited season at London's Charing Cross Theatre from July 19 to October 9, 2027, with a press night on July 27, 2027. The theatre's official page for the production is live, and tickets went on sale on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
The Charing Cross Theatre is located at The Arches, Villiers Street, London WC2N 6NL. Ticket prices listed by the theatre are GBP 70 for premium seats, GBP 45 to GBP 60 for stalls, GBP 29.50 for the balcony and GBP 20 for slips. The age guidance is 10 and above, and the running time is yet to be confirmed.
The piece is written, composed and directed by Jonathan Christenson, artistic director of Catalyst Theatre of Edmonton, Canada, with production design by Bretta Gerecke and choreography by Laura Krewski. On a rainy night in Richmond, Virginia, Edgar Allan Poe boards a steamship bound for New York and never reaches his destination; the voyage carries him into memory and imagination, weaving his life together with elements of works such as The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Fall of the House of Usher and The Pit and the Pendulum.
Nevermore has previously been presented across Canada and internationally, including at the Barbican during the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT), and Off-Broadway at New York's New World Stages in 2015, where it received three Lucille Lortel Award nominations, including Outstanding Musical. The London run marks the production's return to the city in 2027.
