La La Land Stage Musical Completes Creative Team as Film Choreographer and Costume Designer Return

Lionsgate on October 14 unveiled the full creative team for the stage musical adaptation of La La Land, adding Emmy-winning choreographer Mandy Moore and Oscar-nominated costume designer Mary Zophres, both veterans of the 2016 film. Tony-winning 59 Studio will serve as production designer, with Edward Pierce as design collaborator.
Moore choreographed the film's signature dance sequences and has earned 15 Primetime Emmy nominations with three wins, including for So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. Zophres, whose color-driven costumes defined the film's look, is a four-time Academy Award nominee, most recently for Babylon.
Previously announced members include director Bartlett Sher, book writers Ayad Akhtar and Matthew Decker, composer Justin Hurwitz, lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and producer Marc Platt.
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, the film follows an aspiring actress and a jazz musician chasing their dreams in Los Angeles and won six Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Actress and Best Original Song for City of Stars. Casting, performance dates and venue will be announced in the coming months, according to Lionsgate.
