Idaho Tax Commission Postpones Filing Deadlines for Wildfire-Affected Taxpayers to February 1, 2027

Thursday, October 15, 2026 · States · GSM News

The Idaho Tax Commission announced on October 14 that it has postponed state tax filing and payment deadlines for individuals and businesses affected by the Washington wildfires, following federal disaster relief, Bloomberg Tax reported. Deadlines falling from July 31, 2026, through January 31, 2027, are postponed until February 1, 2027.

The postponement applies to all Idaho tax types, including income, sales, fuels and income tax withholding. Relief applies to taxpayers in areas designated as disaster areas by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as taxpayers whose records necessary to meet their Idaho tax obligations are located in those areas.

The relief also postpones the October 15 deadline for filing extended 2025 income tax returns. The commission noted that interest continues to accrue on unpaid 2025 income tax during the postponement period.
