Vietnam Becomes Asia-Pacific's Largest Branded Residences Market by Units, Report Says

HANOI — Vietnam has become Asia-Pacific's largest branded residences market by number of residential units, according to an industry report covered by Retalk Asia on October 15. Vietnam has 68 branded residence projects, 19 of them complete, with 49 still to be delivered — the sixth-largest national pipeline in the world, behind only the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, the report said.
Vietnam's projects are spread across coastal destinations rather than concentrated in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, led by Da Nang with eight projects, Phu Quoc with seven, Hoi An with six and Ha Long with five. By number of developments, Thailand remains the region's biggest market, with Phuket alone accounting for 32 branded residential schemes — 13 completed and 19 in the pipeline — making it the world's largest resort branded residences market, the report said.
Across Asia-Pacific, the pipeline has grown from 147 projects 12 months ago to 200 today, making the region the third-largest market globally by developments, behind North America with 452 schemes and the Middle East and North Africa with 426. Globally, branded residences achieve an average price premium of 44 percent over equivalent non-branded product, according to the report by Global Branded Residences.
