Thursday, October 15, 2026 · White House · GSM News

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump hosted a luncheon in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday honoring the nation's first responders, attended by representatives of major firefighter and law enforcement organizations, the Daily Caller reported. The White House daily schedule listed the lunch at 12:30 p.m. Eastern, closed to the press, while several outlets carried pooled video of the event.

According to a guest list a White House official shared with the Daily Caller, attendees came from more than a dozen organizations, including the International Association of Fire Fighters, the National Volunteer Fire Council, the Fraternal Order of Police, the National Association of Police Organizations, the National Sheriffs' Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association and the National Border Patrol Council.

White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis said in a statement that President Trump "will always stand with the heroes in law enforcement, fire fighters, and first responders," adding that the president has provided them with resources to do their jobs, including delivering on his no-tax-on-tips promise.

Trump previously hosted police officers in the Rose Garden during Police Week earlier this year. Thursday's luncheon came about three weeks before the November 3 midterm elections, as the White House continues to emphasize its crime and public-safety agenda.
