Nvidia and Apple Each Committed $25 Million to the White House Ballroom; Donations Total About $333 Million

WASHINGTON — Nvidia and Apple have each committed $25 million to President Donald Trump's planned White House ballroom, the top contribution amount, according to an internal donor list obtained by The Washington Post, Reuters reported on October 15. The Adelson family, one of the Republican Party's largest donor families, committed the same sum, as did Charles Ergen, co-founder and chairman of Dish Network.

The list records 67 donations above $10,000 made as of late last month, totaling about $333 million in private donations, with at least $77 million coming from donors who requested anonymity. Other large contributions include $22 million from Google's settlement of Trump's lawsuit over the suspension of his account, $20.27 million from the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Foundation, and $5 million from Amazon. The White House publicly named 37 donors last October without disclosing amounts; Trump himself does not appear on the newly reported list, though he has said the project is “being paid for a hundred percent by me and some friends of mine.”

An Nvidia spokesperson said the company was proud to donate to a nonpartisan trust serving Americans, independent of any business interests; Apple declined to comment. White House spokesman Davis Ingle did not comment on individual contributions, saying the donors represent “a wide array of great American companies and generous individuals.”
