Mariners Church Mobilizes Relief for Norte Fire Victims, Will Pray for Affected Communities at Weekend Services

Friday, October 16, 2026 · Faith · GSM News

Mariners Church, a large Orange County congregation, has sent a pastoral letter to its members and set up a wildfire relief page on its website in response to the Norte Fire. The church said the fire has already impacted people in its congregation and in local cities, including some who have lost homes and others who are displaced. "We are not only a church in Southern California, but also a church for Southern California," the letter said.

The church said its food pantry network and clothing closets are ready to provide resources to those in need, and that updates on additional ways to help will be posted on the relief page. Anyone who knows someone displaced by the fire without a place to stay can email [email protected], and the church's team will help connect them with assistance. At its weekend services, the church will pray for the affected communities, displaced residents and first responders.

Headquartered in Irvine, Mariners Church is one of the largest churches in Southern California, with congregations across Orange County and beyond. The Norte Fire ignited on Oct. 16 near San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano and has burned about 465 acres. Relief information is posted at marinerschurch.org/disasterrelief.
