Fed Chair Warsh Reaffirms Price Stability Pledge in Bangkok, Gives No Signal on Oct. 28 Meeting

Bangkok — Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh reaffirmed the central bank's commitment to delivering price stability during a fireside chat at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok on October 16, while offering no preview of the policy path for the October 28 rate meeting, according to Reuters.
Warsh described the global wave of artificial-intelligence investment as one of the most important upside factors for the world economy, while noting it is also pushing up inflation in the short term. His remarks followed the September inflation release, which showed consumer prices up 3.7% year over year, still above the Fed's 2% target.
Warsh gave no forward guidance on the October 28 meeting, leaving investors to parse upcoming data and officials' remarks. (GSM, via Reuters)
