Atlanta is a city in Fulton County, Georgia. The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded the I-285 East highway project to a consortium led by Spain's Ferrovial, which also includes the fund Tikehau, under a 50-year concession to design, finance, build and operate dynamic toll express lanes along the eastern section of Atlanta's I-285 perimeter beltway, Ferrovial reported to Spain's National Securities Market Commission on October 16.

The project has an estimated construction value of $8.9 billion, and an average of around 200,000 vehicles are expected to travel on the road daily. The express lanes, known as managed lanes, use dynamic pricing to keep traffic moving.

"Together with our construction projects in the region, this award demonstrates our ability to develop complex, large-scale infrastructure projects that are essential for improving mobility and supporting economic growth," Ferrovial CEO Ignacio Madridejos said. I-285 is the beltway encircling metropolitan Atlanta, and its eastern section links several interstates with the city's eastern suburbs.
