One Person Found Dead After Late-Night Mobile Home Fire in Southeast Dallas; Arson and Homicide Investigators on Scene

Dallas is a city in Dallas County, Texas. Late on the night of October 16, shortly before midnight, a mobile home at 400 Coxville Lane in southeast Dallas caught fire. Dallas Fire-Rescue said firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
Because the fire was too advanced for a rescue attempt, crews fought it from outside. After the flames were extinguished, firefighters found a body inside the home. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify the remains, which officials said could not be recognized at the scene.
Neighbor Mariana Mendoza said she saw the flames shortly before midnight and went toward the home with her boyfriend. They called 911 and knocked on doors and walls near the fire, but heard no response.
A Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson said overnight winds may have contributed to the fire's spread, and that clutter inside the home may also have helped it move quickly. The mobile home had additional living spaces built onto it. The cause of the fire has not been determined, and both arson investigators and homicide detectives are investigating.
The American Red Cross was called to assist two men and a woman who lived at the property. Officials have not said whether any of them was the person found dead, and the victim's identity has not been released.
