CicloSDias Brings Open Streets to San Ysidro on Sunday: 1.5 Car-Free Miles, Free for All

San Diego is a city in San Diego County, California. CicloSDias, San Diego's open-streets event, comes to San Ysidro on Sunday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., along a roughly 1.5-mile route on Beyer Boulevard and East San Ysidro Boulevard, with streets closed to vehicles from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is presented by the City of San Diego with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition as a Planning Department pilot, partly funded by Caltrans' Active Transportation Program.
Participation is free with no registration, open to all ages and all wheels — bicycles, scooters, skates, wheelchairs and strollers — and leashed dogs are welcome. Activity hubs sit at both ends of the route, at Hall Avenue near the Beyer Boulevard Station and at the San Ysidro Transit Center, both served by the Blue Line trolley. Organizers note that parking is prohibited on the route during the closure and some MTS bus routes will detour.
