Karmine Corp Sweep MVK 3-0 at Worlds Play-Ins, One Win From the Swiss Stage
Play-in action at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship continued on October 16 in Los Angeles, where Europe's Karmine Corp swept the Asia-Pacific's MVK Esports 3-0 to reach the Play-In final, one win away from a place in the Swiss Stage.
Four teams are contesting a single Swiss Stage berth in the Play-Ins, played as best-of-five series under a double-elimination format from October 16 to 19 at the Riot Games Arena. In the opening series on October 15, Karmine Corp edged North America's Cloud9 Kia 3-2 — the first-ever five-game series between North American and European teams at Worlds, according to Insider Gaming — while player Chika set a damage record on the champion Kog'Maw the same day.
The Swiss Stage begins on October 24 in Allen, Texas, with 16 teams; the eight teams reaching three wins will advance to the Knockout Stage. (GSM, via Insider Gaming)
