Two National Park Service Fee-Free Days Remain in 2026: Oct 27 and Nov 11, for U.S. Citizens and Residents

Saturday, October 17, 2026 · Culture & Travel · GSM News

The National Park Service's official 2026 fee-free calendar lists two remaining free entrance days this year: October 27, Theodore Roosevelt's birthday, and November 11, Veterans Day. On those dates, every NPS site that normally charges an entrance fee will offer free admission to U.S. citizens and residents.

The 2026 calendar includes eight fee-free periods in total; Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, the Independence Day weekend, the NPS 110th birthday and Constitution Day have already passed. Fee-charging parks within reach of California readers include Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.

The NPS notes that only the entrance fee is waived. Other charges, including camping, tours and timed-entry reservation fees, may still apply, and nonresidents continue to pay regular entrance fees and any applicable surcharges on fee-free days. Opening hours, reservation requirements and road conditions should be checked on each park's official page before a trip.
