All Blacks Thump Wallabies 43-21 in Sydney for 13th Straight Win Over Australia

Saturday, October 17, 2026 · World News · GSM News

The All Blacks rode a first-half try blitz to a 43-21 victory over the Wallabies at Stadium Australia in Sydney on Saturday, October 17, extending their win streak over their trans-Tasman rivals to 13 matches, with the Bledisloe Cup safely retained for a 24th year after last week's 50-19 win in Auckland.

Despite losing Jordie Barrett to a calf injury before kickoff and centre Quinn Tupaea early on to concussion, New Zealand overwhelmed Australia with power, pace and precision in the opening 40 minutes. Winger Josh Moorby, fullback Beauden Barrett, flanker Peter Lakai and replacement Rieko Ioane all crossed in the first 26 minutes for a 22-0 lead; number eight Wallace Sititi then made an extra man count after a Wallabies sin-binning, and Beauden Barrett added his second off an intercept to send the All Blacks into the break 36-7 ahead.

"I'm really proud of the boys, the way we came out in that first half," said captain Codie Taylor. Moorby scored again shortly after the restart before Australia finished with tries from Tom Wright and Filipo Daugunu, too late to change the result. (GSM, based on Reuters reporting)
