Quad Summit May Be Held on Sidelines of ASEAN Meet in Manila in November

Quad member states are exploring holding a long-delayed leaders' summit on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Manila on November 16-18, according to reports. The plan hinges on the attendance of US President Donald Trump.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to travel to the Philippines for the ASEAN meeting. The Quad groups the United States, India, Japan and Australia; the last Quad Leaders' Summit was held in Wilmington, in the United States, in September 2024.
The ASEAN Summit is one of the region's principal multilateral gatherings. No final decision or detailed schedule for a Quad meeting in Manila has been announced, and Trump's itinerary is seen as the deciding factor. (GSM, based on Indian media reports)
