Miley Cyrus Takes the Hollywood Bowl Stage Oct. 16, Opening Two-Night Run Tied to New Album
Singer Miley Cyrus took the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on the night of Oct. 16, opening a two-night stand tied to her new album, Bass Persuades. A second show follows on Oct. 18; both performances begin at 7:30 p.m., with experimental rock band Model/Actriz as special guest. The venue marquee displayed the shows as sold out.
Announcing the Hollywood Bowl dates in early September, Cyrus wrote that the venue is her favorite place to experience music and see her favorite artists: "I've sat in those seats many times, but I've never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I'm bringing it home." On opening day she posted, "Opening night at the Hollywood Bowl is here." Bass Persuades was released on Sept. 18.
Cyrus's last full-scale tour was the Bangerz tour in 2014; her recent live appearances have been special recordings and small events, making the Hollywood Bowl shows a notable return to headline performances. (GSM, based on reporting by HOLR Magazine)
