Georgia Proclaims October 12-16 as Kids' Chance Awareness Week, Supporting Children of Injured Workers

Saturday, October 17, 2026 · States · GSM News

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has officially proclaimed October 12-16, 2026, as Kids' Chance Awareness Week in Georgia, recognizing the work of an organization dedicated to supporting children whose families have been impacted by serious workplace injuries and fatalities. The proclamation was publicized by the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation.

Kids' Chance's mission is providing educational scholarships to the children of workers who have been seriously, catastrophically, or fatally injured on the job. When a workplace tragedy affects a family, educational opportunities can become uncertain; through scholarships and ongoing support, Kids' Chance helps students pursue their academic goals and build brighter futures.

Since its founding in 1988, Kids' Chance has grown into a nationwide network serving families across all 50 states. Georgia observes Kids' Chance Awareness Week to highlight the mission and the educational opportunities available to students and families affected by workplace injuries across Georgia and throughout the country.
