Kehoe Expands Diesel Relief Executive Order for Missouri Farmers and Truckers

Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has signed Executive Order 26-20, expanding Executive Order 26-19 issued last week, to allow the highway use of dyed diesel fuel for all motor vehicles operating for any purpose, the governor's office in Jefferson City said. The action aligns state regulatory relief with President Trump's Emergency Tax Relief on Diesel Fuel executive order to provide economic relief and maintain uniformity across all transportation sectors.

'Today's action brings clarity to Missouri's farmers and truckers who are working hard to deliver goods and keep our economy moving while facing higher diesel costs,' Kehoe said. 'Lowering transportation costs across the entire supply chain means savings that trickle down to reduce everyday expenses for every Missouri family, business, and consumer.' Dyed diesel is tax-free off-road fuel marked red for agricultural use, and Missouri law normally bars its use on public roadways; the order suspends state restrictions and associated penalties and prohibits state agencies from assessing administrative, civil or criminal penalties within the exemption's scope.
The temporary increase in agricultural weight limits under Executive Order 26-19 is also extended. Executive Order 26-20 is effective immediately and expires December 31, 2026. Separately, Kehoe announced four gubernatorial appointments on October 16, including reappointments to the Statewide Independent Living Council and the State Board of Nursing and filling county vacancies in DeKalb and St. Francois counties.
