North Carolina Governor Announces $6 Million to Reduce Flood Risks

Governor Josh Stein announced in Marshall on October 16 that $6 million in grants from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Flood Resiliency Blueprint program will help reduce flood risks across the state, according to the Governor's Office.
Marshall, in western North Carolina's mountain region, has been a focus of flood recovery and resilience efforts following past storms. The grants will support local projects aimed at reducing flood risk.
Also on October 16, Stein announced that MST Rebar Inc., a Canadian fiberglass rebar supplier, will create 83 jobs in Bladen County and invest more than $15.5 million to locate its first U.S. manufacturing plant there.
