South Carolina Opens Former Utility Workers' Retreat as 51st State Park
South Carolina's newest state park, Ramsey Grove State Park in Georgetown, has opened to the public as the state's 51st state park, the SC Daily Gazette reported on October 16.
The property once served as a retreat for employees of a state utility. The park began welcoming visitors at the beginning of the month during a 'soft opening' period.
The addition gives residents and visitors in the Georgetown area a new outdoor destination on the state's coast. Further details on full operations will be provided by the state parks service.
