Dubois-Wardley Rematch Tonight at London's O2: Both Heaviest Ever, Wardley Vows Knockout Revenge

Reuters reported on October 16 that WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois and challenger Fabio Wardley weighed in at Spitalfields Market in London ahead of their rematch on Saturday, October 17, at the O2 Arena. Dubois, 29, was a career-heaviest 253.9 pounds (115kg), with Wardley, 31, tipping the scales at 248.3 pounds (112kg), also his heaviest ever.
In their first fight in Manchester last May, Dubois rose twice from the canvas, including being dropped by a right hook in the first 10 seconds, to stop Wardley at the start of the 11th round and become heavyweight world champion for the second time; Wardley, making his first defence, was bleeding heavily from the bridge of his nose with his right eye almost closed. Dubois holds a record of 23 wins and three losses from 26 fights; Wardley is 20-1-1.
Wardley predicted 'revenge, Fabio Wardley, knockout win,' saying he draws confidence from his knockdowns in the first and third rounds of the first fight. Dubois said he knows what to expect and is 'ready to go to war,' adding: 'I need to get through this to get to bigger things.' The card airs on DAZN pay-per-view, with the main card starting at 2 p.m. ET. (GSM, based on reporting by Reuters)
