Fundora Defends WBC Crown Tonight in Las Vegas Against Unbeaten Hadribeaj
Sebastian Fundora defends his WBC super welterweight championship on Saturday, October 17, against mandatory challenger Ermal Hadribeaj at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, multiple sports outlets reported. At the weigh-in, Fundora scaled 152.8 pounds and Hadribeaj 152.4 pounds, both comfortably inside the 154-pound championship limit. It is Fundora's fourth title defense.
Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs) last fought in March, stopping former world champion Keith Thurman in the sixth round, and his last three wins have all come inside the distance. Hadribeaj (23-0-1, 8 KOs) earned his title shot with a unanimous decision over Bakary Samake in May, on scores of 115-113 twice and 116-112, and fights for a world title for the first time.
The Premier Boxing Champions card airs from 8 p.m. ET on TNT, truTV and DAZN, with main-event ring walks expected at about 11 p.m. ET. The chief support bout matches Brandon Figueroa against Tomoki Kameda for the WBA featherweight title.
