Trump to Speak Saturday at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on Midterm Swing
According to the White House weekend guidance for October 16-18, President Donald Trump will deliver remarks at 2 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, October 17, at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, Kentucky. He will fly to Kentucky that morning from Palm Beach, Florida. The arena sits on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. On Friday, October 16, Trump spoke in Dalton, Georgia, and attended a Republican National Committee event in Palm Beach.
Organizers bill the event as a "Midterm Rally." Local media reported that doors open at 10:30 a.m., the rally program begins at 12:30 p.m., and Trump is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. Admission is free but requires advance online registration, limited to four tickets per person. Highland Heights police warned of heavy traffic around the university campus and the arena during the presidential visit, with the heaviest congestion expected between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and urged residents to allow extra time and consider alternate routes.
The Kentucky stop comes less than three weeks before the November 3 midterm elections. Kentucky has two closely watched federal races this year: with Senator Mitch McConnell retiring, Republican Representative Andy Barr faces Democrat Charles Booker, a former state representative, for the open Senate seat, while Republican Ed Gallrein is running in the 4th Congressional District to succeed Representative Thomas Massie. Barr said this week he was offered a speaking slot by the White House. Trump last campaigned in Kentucky in March, appearing in Hebron for Gallrein, who went on to defeat Massie in the primary.
