CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Orange County Department on Aging in North Carolina invites the public to a series of Master Aging Plan Community Engagement Meetings from October 19 to 23. The Master Aging Plan is a countywide project that will guide policies, programs and services impacting older adults over the next five years and further develop the county as an age-friendly community. The county says the meetings will share what it learned from earlier surveys and give residents an opportunity to offer additional ideas. The announcement notes that the Monday, October 19 session at the Seymour Center will have live Chinese interpretation, and the Friday, October 23 session at the Passmore Center will have live Spanish interpretation. This Orange County is in North Carolina, home to Chapel Hill, and is not the Orange County in California.

The sessions are: Hargraves Center, Monday, October 19, 10:00–11:30 a.m.; Seymour Center, Monday, October 19, 1:00–3:00 p.m., with live Chinese interpretation; Efland Cheeks Community Center, Tuesday, October 20, 12:00 noon–2:00 p.m.; Cedar Grove Community Center, Wednesday, October 21, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon; Schley Grange Hall, Wednesday, October 21, 2:00–4:00 p.m.; Passmore Center, Friday, October 23, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 noon, with live Spanish interpretation; and Clover Garden United Methodist Church, Friday, October 23, 2:00–4:00 p.m.

All community members are welcome, the county said. The announcement came on the eve of the Double Ninth Festival (October 18), the traditional day for honoring elders, with the meeting week following immediately after.
