Stabbings Reported Near Los Angeles Taste of Soul Festival; Two Victims Located at Hospital, Festival Undisrupted
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Police located two stabbing victims at a hospital and took assault-with-a-deadly-weapon reports following reports of stabbings near the Taste of Soul festival in South Los Angeles on Saturday, October 17.
Officers initially received calls about a stabbing near Crenshaw and Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards around 2:45 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller told City News Service. At least one person was reported stabbed during an apparent group fight, but those involved had left before officers arrived. In an update Saturday night, officers located two people at a hospital, interviewed them and took reports involving assaults by cutting.
A second stabbing was reported in the 4200 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, where one person was taken to a hospital with possible stab wounds, according to ABC7, citing the Los Angeles Fire Department. Authorities had not established whether the two incidents were related. Festival organizers said the police activity occurred outside the event grounds, did not disrupt operations, and the festival ended as scheduled. The victims' conditions were not immediately available. (GSM, based on MyNewsLA reporting)
