Seattle Reign Lose Young Star Maddie Dahlien to ACL Tear for Rest of Season
Seattle is a city in King County, Washington. Seattle Reign FC announced on October 17 that forward Maddie Dahlien has been placed on the season-ending injury list with a torn ACL suffered while training with the United States under-23 women's national team. The 22-year-old has three goals and four assists in 25 appearances for Seattle this season, with her assist total tied for the team lead; she was one of three finalists for the 2025 NWSL Rookie of the Year award. "We're heartbroken for Maddie, and our priority is making sure she has the support and resources she needs throughout her recovery," general manager Lesle Gallimore said in a statement. "She has made a tremendous impact on this club in just two seasons." Dahlien won the 2024 national championship with North Carolina in college and earned her first senior U.S. cap in January against Paraguay.
