Korean-Indian Film 'Jeju Olle' to Make North American Premiere at Newport Beach Film Festival on Oct. 21

The Korean-Indian feature 'Jeju Olle' has been selected for the Korean Spotlight section of the 27th Newport Beach Film Festival and will hold its North American premiere on October 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Screen 1 — the largest auditorium — at the Regal Edwards Big Newport.
Written and directed by Jin Kwang-Kyo, the 148-minute film was shot in Korean, Hindi and English. Indian actor Anushka Sen plays Alisha, an Indian star who leaves the spotlight after a bereavement and travels to Jeju Island to fulfill a promise; Korean actor Kang Hyung-seok plays Ha Sun-woo, a former K-pop idol who comes to the island after a career setback. Sen told Indian media that representing India around the world has always been her dream and that the film is especially meaningful to her. According to the filmmakers, Sen is the first Indian actor to headline a Korean feature, and releases in 21 other countries are under discussion. The festival runs October 15–22 in Newport Beach.
