[Video] NetEase's Where Winds Meet Launches Version 2.3 With First Theme Region Qingzhou; DLSS 5 Support Set for November

NetEase Games and its Everstone Studio released Version 2.3, "Friends from Afar," for the free-to-play open-world wuxia action RPG Where Winds Meet on October 15, the game's biggest content update of the week, rolled out simultaneously across all platforms worldwide.
The headline addition is Qingzhou, the game's first "Theme Region." Set in the east of the game world where mountain ranges meet the sea, Qingzhou takes players from the Eastern Peak through pine-forested mountain paths to the mudflats where the Yellow River reaches the sea. The update also adds the Inkbound Order, a new sect that resolves conflicts through debate rather than blades, including a card-based PvP mode called Duel of Wits; new weapons including the Waist Drum and a folding fan; and three new world bosses — Tidewatcher, Old Raftsman and Zhu Yinghan. A follow-up update on October 29 will open the mist-shrouded isle of Penglai.
On the technology side, NetEase announced on October 13 that Where Winds Meet will support NVIDIA DLSS 5 in late November, making it one of the first three games worldwide to adopt the technology, whose 3D-Guided Neural Rendering is aimed at improving lighting and material fidelity. The game became playable on RTX Spark laptops on October 16. According to NetEase, Where Winds Meet has surpassed 100 million players worldwide.
Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase Games, Where Winds Meet is set in the turbulent years leading up to the founding of the Northern Song dynasty, casting players as a wandering swordsman. It is free to play on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. A new round of Twitch Drops tied to Version 2.3 runs through November 12.
