[Video] Tank Passes Charlie Wilson With 12th Adult R&B Airplay No. 1 'Yes,' the Most by a Male Artist in the Chart's History
Tank's single "Yes" has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart dated October 17, giving the R&B singer his 12th chart-topper and moving him past Charlie Wilson for the most No. 1s by a male artist in the chart's history, according to Billboard's chart reporting. Wilson previously held the male record with 11; Alicia Keys still holds the overall lead with 14 No. 1s.
Wilson reached 11 when "Keep Me In Love" topped the chart in October 2025. Tank drew level earlier this year when "Control" hit No. 1, and "Yes" now puts him ahead on his own. "Yes" draws on Floetry's "Say Yes" and appears on his album EXPERIENCE, released through R&B Money/BMG. The track also led Mediabase's U.S. R&B chart for the week of October 10, rising from No. 3 after spending 13 weeks on that chart.
The milestone extends a comeback shaped by hearing problems. Tank disclosed in 2021 that he was losing hearing in his right ear and struggling with sound in his left, alongside dizziness and trouble walking a straight line while he sought treatment. He later billed his 2022 album R&B Money as his last, and in a recent Men's Health interview he recalled how the hearing loss and vertigo had disrupted his life.
