Hong Kong to Unveil New Batch of 10-20 Strategic Enterprises Wednesday; 124 Firms Have Brought HK$73 Billion So Far

Hong Kong's Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) will announce a new batch of strategic enterprises on Wednesday, Oct. 22, its director said on Sunday. Director of OASES Peter Yan said on Oct. 18 that between 10 and 20 companies are expected to set up in Hong Kong in the new round, including industry leaders with market capitalisations above HK$100 billion in fields such as super intelligence and biotechnology. Since its establishment nearly four years ago, OASES has attracted 124 strategic enterprises, which are expected to bring about HK$73 billion in investment and create some 25,000 jobs, Yan said. The strategic enterprise scheme, launched under the 2022 Policy Address and led by the Financial Secretary, targets companies of strategic value to Hong Kong's economy, offering one-stop support for their establishment and expansion in the city.
