Lusofonia Festival Runs Oct. 23-25; Temporary Traffic Controls Around Taipa's Largo do Carmo from Oct. 20

To facilitate the Cultural Affairs Bureau's Lusofonia Festival, temporary traffic arrangements will be in force around Largo do Carmo in Taipa from Oct. 20 to 27, according to the Macau government portal. The Lusofonia Festival, one of Macau's signature Portuguese-culture celebrations, runs Oct. 23-25 at Largo do Carmo, featuring song and dance performances, food stalls and handicraft markets showcasing Macau's Lusophone heritage. Under the arrangements, some metered parking spaces on Rua do Cunha are suspended from 5 p.m. on Oct. 20 to 2 a.m. on Oct. 26, with more spaces suspended on Rua do Cunha and Rua Correia da Silva from midnight Oct. 23; Largo do Carmo and adjacent road sections will be closed to traffic and one-way controls applied during event hours on the evenings of Oct. 23-25. Vehicles heading to the Carmo swimming pool during closures must use Avenida de Carlos da Maia. The Transport Bureau urged drivers to follow on-site signage and use public transport.
